THIS AFTERNOON, in about an hour, is the Safety & Self Defense Workshop. We'll be meeting in the entryway to the South Campus and heading up to the Cornelius residence building at 4:45pm. Come on out and join the practice and discussion on safety and self-defense.
Tomorrow (Friday) at 12noon in the Student Activity Center, we’ll be test-running the Self Defense Club that will practice martial arts and conflict communication on alternating weeks. Martial arts practice will occur weeks 2,4,6 & 8. Conflict Communication will occur weeks 3,5, 7 and 9. This is a no-contact martial arts and communication class that requires a serious commitment and, as the samurai maxim says, “you must empty your cup.” I will be facilitating the club, so let me know if you have interest or questions.
On MONDAY, January 25th at 4:45 in 717 & 718 we are beginning a short series of FREE Salsa Classes. Salsa is a ton of fun to learn and will improve your style and coordination. This will be ongoing for most of the quarter, but we need participation in the first few sessions to validate the funding, so please come!
NEXT Thursday, January 28th in 717 & 718 at 4:45pm is the Winter Networking Social, which is an opportunity to come learn about council and clubs and upcoming networking activities. This event is your chance to mingle with other students, new and continuing and have some tasty snacks, hear live music and enter a raffle to win a Netbook. See you there!
